Silva is champion. Vacant belt decided at UFC 332.
Natalia Silva won the vacant women’s flyweight title by unanimous decision over Wang Cong at UFC 332. UFC.com rankings and her athlete page now list her as champion. Next defense not booked.

Natalia Silva is the new UFC women’s flyweight champion. UFC.com Main Card Results by Spencer Kyte reported that she defeated Wang Cong by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) for the vacant title in the main event of UFC 332 on Oct. 3 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
That is the results primary for this division. The vacant belt is no longer vacant.
Champion and how she won
Silva took a five-round decision on all three cards. UFC’s recap framed her as the fifth champion in women’s flyweight history and the fourth woman to hold the belt, and listed her at 9-0 inside the UFC after the win.
The path to Salt Lake was a vacancy, not an interim. On Sept. 5, UFC news reported that Valentina Shevchenko vacated the undisputed title because of an undisclosed injury expected to keep her out for up to a year. She has said she intends to reclaim the belt when healthy — stated intent, not a booking. The promotion did not install an interim; it went straight to a vacant undisputed fight, and Silva–Wang decided it.
What UFC.com shows now
UFC.com has caught up with the results. As of Tuesday, Oct. 6:
- UFC.com rankings list Natalia Silva as Women’s Flyweight Champion in both of its ranking lists, the media-panel vote and the separate Meta rankings. Both lists now put Valentina Shevchenko at No. 1 behind Silva (media panel updated Oct. 6; Meta rankings Oct. 3). - Silva’s athlete page now lists her as Title Holder (Women’s Flyweight / #4 Pound-for-Pound / Active), with a bio line that she defeated Wang Cong at UFC 332 to become UFC flyweight champion.
The results article, the rankings, and the athlete page now agree.
Contenders and booked fights
No next title defense is on an event page. Contender color stays results and ladder only:
- Alexa Grasso is No. 2 in the media-panel rankings after her unanimous decision over Manon Fiorot at Noche UFC on Sept. 12 (29-28 across the cards) — the most recent statement win among the top contenders for a next shot if and when the promotion books one. Positioning from results, not a White guarantee and not a printed title date. - Manon Fiorot is No. 3 in the media-panel rankings and rebuilding after that loss. - Erin Blanchfield faces Jasmine Jasudavicius on Oct. 17 in Edmonton — ranked ladder on the same stretch that just crowned a new champion in Salt Lake. Ladder color only; not a title eliminator unless UFC primary says so later. - Wang Cong fell short in the vacant-title main event; she remains part of the recent mid-board rise that got her to Salt Lake, not a booked rematch.
UFC 333 and UFC 334 title cards in other divisions are unchanged and are not women’s flyweight business.
What changed — and what is unresolved
What changed: the vacant women’s flyweight title was decided; Natalia Silva is the new champion by UD over Wang Cong at UFC 332; the division is no longer waiting on Oct. 3.
What is unresolved: the nature of Shevchenko’s injury remains undisclosed; her reclaim intent when healthy is still stated intent, not a return booking; and Silva’s first defense is not on an event page.
