Men's Featherweight · 145 lb

Volk–Evloev is the title fight. Silva's ask is not a booking.

Alexander Volkanovski's second reign heads to UFC 333 against Movsar Evloev. Diego Lopes, Lerone Murphy, and Jean Silva fill out the contender picture — with Silva's Noche heat still short of a printed title date.

Alexander Volkanovski (28-4) is in his second featherweight reign, and the next defense is already locked. Last time out he took a unanimous decision over Diego Lopes at UFC 325 on Jan. 31. Next: Movsar Evloev at UFC 333 on Oct. 24.

That is the schedule that matters at 145. Evloev has the title shot. The champion is taking the undefeated, high-control challenge on a numbered card rather than shopping for an easier first defense of the second reign. Until that night lands, every other contender conversation at featherweight is positioning — not a second title path.

Contenders behind Evloev

Diego Lopes remains among the clearest recent title losers still orbiting the division. Lightweight rumors around Lopes circulate in secondary reporting; they are unconfirmed and do not move him off the featherweight board until something is signed. Lerone Murphy sits near the top of the rankings — among the clearest contenders after Evloev and Lopes — the quiet, consistent claim that does not need a press tour to stay relevant.

Jean Silva is ranked after a rear-naked choke of Jose Delgado at Noche UFC. Post-fight he put the gloves in Hunter Campbell's hands (not Brian) and said, in substance, that whoever holds that belt would be dealing with a new champion in town. He did not name Volkanovski or Evloev. Until the UFC prints a date, that title ask is ranked heat with a public campaign — not the next challenger on the calendar.

Yair Rodríguez shows up on some lists and not others; activity and priority are unclear. Treat that gap as unresolved rather than as a settled ranking call.

UFC 333 also lists Arnold Allen versus Aaron Pico as featherweight depth on the same Abu Dhabi card as the title fight — ladder color next to the main event, not a second title path. At UFC 331 on Sept. 19 in Los Angeles, featherweight bouts include Patricio Pitbull versus Dooho Choi and Giga Chikadze versus Joanderson Brito. Those fights keep the mid-board moving while Volk–Evloev owns October; they are not billed as title eliminators. For now the featherweight title picture is simple: Volkanovski versus Evloev on Oct. 24. Everything else is contender positioning until a date is printed.
