Rosas Jr stops Barcelos in the fifth — Perez edges Dumont; Hernandez debuts with a flash finish

Raul Rosas Jr. stopped Raoni Barcelos in the fifth round of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night main event at Meta APEX in Las Vegas, closing his first UFC headliner with a slam finish that ended a bloody, competitive fight. On the same main card, Ailin Perez took a unanimous decision over Norma Dumont in a ranked women’s bantamweight bout, and Luis Hernandez needed 50 seconds to submit Sedriques Dumas on short notice.

Main event — Rosas Jr. TKO Barcelos

Rosas Jr. (#12) defeated Barcelos (#13) by TKO (slam) at 1:38 of Round 5, according to UFC.com’s main-card results. It was Rosas’s first UFC main-event win and his sixth consecutive victory.

UFC.com’s recap described an early lead for the 21-year-old on the feet, then a mid-fight swing toward the veteran as Barcelos used experience to pull ahead across the middle rounds. In the fifth, Rosas pushed the pace again. A little over a minute into the round he put Barcelos on the canvas with a slam; Barcelos went limp, and Rosas signaled the referee to stop the fight.

Neither man was fighting for the bantamweight title. Petr Yan’s first defense remains the trilogy rematch with Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 333 on Oct. 24. Saturday was ranked ladder business at the top of an APEX card.

Co-main — Perez edges Dumont

Ailin Perez (#5) defeated Norma Dumont (#4) by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) on the main card, per UFC.com. UFC’s recap called it a grinding fight: Perez scored an early takedown without much damage attached, Dumont answered with a takedown of her own and better striking in the later rounds, and all three judges still gave the fight to Perez.

That is seven straight wins for Perez. UFC.com noted she again called for a championship opportunity — a fighter ask, not a UFC booking. The women’s bantamweight title path on the calendar is unchanged: Kayla Harrison’s first defense against Amanda Nunes remains co-main at UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden. Dumont–Perez was ranked ladder movement under that booking, not an announced title eliminator.

Short-notice midcard — Hernandez submits Dumas

Luis Hernandez submitted Sedriques Dumas with a guillotine choke at 0:50 of Round 1, according to UFC.com. Hernandez stepped in on short notice after UFC.com’s Updates pulled Micky Gall on medical grounds and rebuilt the bout at light heavyweight. UFC’s recap framed it as Hernandez’s first UFC win less than two weeks after earning a Contender Series contract — card depth on this bill, not a light heavyweight title path.

TUF finales and bonuses

Tina Black stopped Melissa Amaya by TKO (strikes) at 3:19 of Round 2 to win The Ultimate Fighter 34 women’s strawweight tournament. Ilimbek Akylbek defeated Mahammadeli Osmanli by disqualification (illegal knee) at 2:19 of Round 1 in the bantamweight finale when Osmanli landed a knee while Akylbek was down.

UFC.com’s bonus coverage awarded Fight of the Night to Rosas Jr. vs. Barcelos and Performance of the Night bonuses to Luis Hernandez and Yazmin Jauregui. Jauregui had stopped Vanessa Demopoulos by TKO (strikes) at 1:02 of Round 1 on the prelims.

Barcelos medical update

After the main event, UFC.com published an update stating Barcelos was immediately transported to a Level 1 trauma center for evaluation. The hospital team conducted a CT scan and a comprehensive assessment. UFC said Barcelos is stable, alert and responsive, with full movement, and that he will remain under medical supervision, with further updates as they become available.

Bottom line

Rosas Jr. finished Barcelos in Round 5 of his first UFC main event. Perez took Dumont on the judges’ cards in a ranked women’s bantamweight main-card fight. Hernandez debuted with a 50-second submission. The belts above both ranked divisions stay where they were: Yan–Merab 3 at UFC 333 for the men’s bantamweight title, Harrison–Nunes at UFC 334 for the women’s.
