Hannah Goldy (5-0) and Miranda Granger (6-0) will make their UFC debuts at UFC on ESPN 5 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J on Aug. 3, MMA Junkie reported on Tuesday.
Granger agreed to the flyweight bout within a two-week notice and moved up a weight class to fight in the UFC, regional promotion CFFC tweeted out on Monday.
The CFFC women’s strawweight champion fought twice for the promotion, she submitted Heloisa Azevedo via guillotine choke on May 25 at CFFC 75, earning her place as the inaugural strawweight titleholder.
None of “Danger” Granger’s professional fights have prolonged a decision. She has shown her ability to finish her opponents and displayed her crafty submission skills.
Besides her second-round TKO win over Vanessa Marie Grimes, Goldy usually goes the distance with her opponents. Although, Goldy looked powerful and more suitable as a flyweight when she fought Grimes at 125 pounds back in 2018 under the Florida based promotion Island Fights.
The Floridan resident Goldy defeated Kali Robbins on the first episode of Dana White’s Tuesday Contender Series via decision. Surprisingly, she sat back and invited Robbins in as she picked her apart with counter punches, took minimal damage if any.
Granger stands at five-foot-seven giving her a three-inch length advantage over Goldy – in turn, this bout may force an inside brawl exchange within the opening minutes unless “Danger” decides to take the fight to the ground.
The main card bout between Volkan Oedemir vs. Ilir Latifi was canceled and moved to Fight Night which will take place in Uruguay on August 10, giving a shot to two fighters on the rise.
